Girls basketball wrapped up their season with a tournament at West Catholic on March 4. The teams participated in terrific games, and the day ended with an intense game between the 8th grade girls from Holy Spirit and Grand Rapids Christian. Holy Spirit opened the game strong with a 16 point lead, but Grand Rapids Christian stepped up their game in the 4th quarter to bring it nearly to a tie. Both teams played hard, but Holy Spirit came through to win the 8th grade championship 47-45. The other winning teams were 7th grade Holy Spirit, 6th grade Grand Rapids Christian, and 5th grade St. Paul.

Brad Sturgell, Program Director for GRACEAC, commented on the day, “Congratulations to all players and teams. Good sportsmanship was exuded often during the contests with opponents picking each other up from the court and caring about their well being. It is great to see our young ladies understand the need for compassion and empathy during the battles on the court.”

Congratulations to the winning teams, and good job to all of the participants.
