Boys & girls tennis

Overview:

GRACEAC tennis operates as a Catholic United sport. This means that the students at GRACEAC member schools combine together to form a Catholic United team or teams, and play against other schools in an outside league, or independent schedule. Tennis is open to students in 6th-8th grade.

As a Catholic United sport, team specifics are determined by GRACEAC. This includes who the coach is, when/where practices are held, uniforms, etc. The league our teams are in set the rules and game schedules. In the event of no organized league and scheduling is done independently, teams will agree to a set of rules. The tennis season consists of a combination of practices & matches. We are not in a organized league for tennis, but we schedule independently with other local area schools such as Unity Christian, Calvin Christian, Byron Center, & NorthPointe Christian.

Although Tennis is a CU sport, the coaches are typically parent volunteers like all of our other sports in our league.  The coach will set the practice schedule days and times when available at each facility.

The Catholic United tennis program is large enough that we can split into two teams - Catholic United West (CUW) & Catholic United East (CUE). CUW's home courts are at WC High School 1801 Bristol Ave GR 49504 and CUE home courts are at The CAT. Parents are welcome to choose which team they want their child to participate on. In addition to matches against the schools listed above, we will also schedule matches between the CUW and CUE teams.

Catholic United tennis takes place in the spring season. Practices typically do not begin until after Spring Break. The season will conclude before Memorial Day Weekend. GRACEAC will provide your child with a uniform top, which will be returned at the end of the season. Parents will need to provide their child with a tennis racquet, tennis shoes, and a water bottle for each practice/match. Any color shorts will work fine.
